Once upon a time there was a boy named Alexander who was doodling and daydreaming in class about inventing new things. Suddenly, he was startled by the sound of a loud voice.

His English teacher was giving the class an assignment: to write and illustrate a book for children.  The young student thought long and hard about what he could write about. What did he do every day that kids would be interested in hearing about?  Let’s see… He loved sports and math and played the tuba.  He loved animals, especially his dog.  And he had a brother with disabilities who was different than all the other kids.

Through his main characters, Chester and Ben, the author, demonstrates acceptance of all people, especially those who may be viewed as different by others.  Chester’s inspiring messages teach us that everyone is special and each of us can pursue and achieve our goals and dreams.

When his mother rediscovered his original hand-lettered and hand-drawn book, Jarmusz was inspired to share Chester’s timeless positive messages with others.  The mother and son team decided to self publish his original book.

Based on the author’s personal family experiences and his passion for helping young adults with disabilities, a portion of the proceeds from this book will benefit We Grow Dreams.  Learn more about We Grow Dreams at  www.WeGrowDreams.org
